2026 Club Renovations!
LOOKING TO A BETTER FUTURE - January Update
Thank you for the overwhelming vote of support at our Special General Meeting for the Board’s forward-looking proposals for providing more space and improved services at Club Vista.
Finding ways to create more space in our building has not been easy and it was heartening that the majority of the more than 200 at the meeting understood and supported the plan.
There were 16 speakers for and against, and some members with particular interests will be disappointed, but the Board has to look to the future and make sure we are protecting the interests all our 4,000 members.
This will be the first major upgrade in 20 years and the Board hopes that, with the goodwill of members, we can work together to make it a success.
For its part, the Board continues to search out opportunities for expanding our premises but the options are currently limited.
Work will start soon on our new floor plans in February and we will give you a staged rundown of what is going to happen so there are no surprises.
Thank you for supporting Club Vista – the result of one of the most successful amalgamations in the country with no debt and views to die for.

December Board Update
It is with great pleasure that your Board can announce, we have received a building consent, from KCDC to construct our new Sports Lounge in the old Café Lane premises. It required reports from Engineers, Structural engineers also Fire and Ventilation specialists to ensure the safety of members and integrity of the Clubrooms.
In our request to council, we included an upgrade to our clubrooms upstairs. This involves removing the sliding petition wall, doubling of the size of the stage to a half round and making the dance floor bigger. We will increase the number of 8 ball tables to 4, allowing Cue Sports to run tournaments. Making more dining tables available will assist our current congestion constraints.
Architects’ 3D images are now available for all to view on screens and Boards. Please see below some images of our proposed new Sports Lounge downstairs and an improved layout upstairs for your enjoyment.
To ensure this new development can proceed, we will be holding a Special General Meeting on the 20th January to put a new motion for you all to vote on.
Thank you for your patience, we expect construction to create our greatly anticipated Sports Lounge to begin in January. 2026 promises to be a great year for the club.
